Applications are invited for the above post to work as part of the University of Nottingham IT Service Desk, which is located at the Kings Meadow Campus and whose purpose is 'to enable and support users of IT to make the most effective use of the university's tools and facilities'.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first line support to the university community for all IT-related support requests (Incidents and Service Requests) received via telephone, email and self-service. They will be joining the IT Service Desk at an exciting time in its development because it has recently secured certification by the Service Desk Institute (SDI) and is working towards enhanced accreditation.

Candidates must have a successful track record in a similar technical support role, including troubleshooting and supporting Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products, E-mail and Internet-based services. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential and a working knowledge of Exchange-based email systems, accounting applications, network monitoring tools, Apple and mobile operating systems is desirable.

The hours of work are 36.25 per week Monday to Friday. The IT Service Desk is open between 8.00 and 18.00 therefore some flexibility is required.
