Reduce failed changes and speed up approvals

Without adding bureaucracy.

Learn how to introduce change safely, efficiently and with confidence while protecting customers, users and critical services. Whether your organisation calls it change enablement, change management or change control, this workshop gives you practical ways to cut failed changes and speed up approvals.

Poorly managed change can disrupt services, frustrate users and create avoidable incidents, but too much process can be just as damaging. It can slow teams down and encourage people to work around controls.

This one-day virtual workshop shows Change Managers, Service Desk leaders and ITSM practitioners how to find the right balance. You’ll learn how to introduce proportionate, risk-based controls without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

You’ll explore how to improve decision-making, make CAB more effective and strengthen communication. You’ll also look at how Change Enablement connects with Problem Management. Using real-world scenarios, you’ll apply the principles to situations you are likely to face in your role.

Grounded in the SDI Global Best Practice Standard for Service Desk, the workshop is practical rather than theoretical. You’ll leave with clear priorities and ideas for improving how change is managed, measured and communicated across your organisation.

FAQs

Is this the same as ITIL change management?
Change enablement is the current name for change management/change control. The workshop covers the practice in a way that applies whichever framework you use.

Will I get a certificate?
It’s a practical workshop, not an exam course. You’ll leave with an improvement plan you can act on.

Can you run this for my team?
Yes. It’s available in-house and can be tailored to your organisation.

What do I need to attend?
A computer with a webcam, a headset and a reliable internet connection.

The SDI approach

This workshop reflects SDI’s commitment to inspiring and enabling IT service and support teams to deliver brilliant service:

  • Authority: informed by the SDI Global Best Practice Standard and recognised service management practice
  • Human at Heart: focused on customers, users, support teams, communication and collaboration
  • Digital by Design: using data, digital workflows and technology purposefully from the outset
  • Brilliant: moving beyond adequate or compliant practice to measurable service improvement

Preparation

Before attending, participants should consider:

  • A recent successful or unsuccessful change
  • An example of an emergency or frequently repeated change

In-house and bespoke delivery

This workshop can be tailored for your team and delivered at your premises or virtually.

An in-house workshop can work through your own change policy, risk model, approval routes and CAB arrangements, using real changes from your organisation. We can also look at your change calendar, tooling and workflows, and the measures you use to track change performance, so your team leaves with improvement priorities that fit how you work.
